Nigeria Netball Federation
Netball is back in Nigeria
A new generation of Nigerian athletes is taking the court as we rebuild, grow and establish netball across the nation.
What Is Netball?
Fast. Strategic. Competitive. Team-driven.
Netball is a fast-paced team sport played on a rectangular court by two teams of seven players, with the main goal of passing a ball and shooting it through a high ring to score more points than the opposing team.
Core Rules
- No Dribbling: Players cannot run or bounce the ball; they must pass it or shoot within three seconds of catching it.
- Non-Contact: Physical contact is not allowed, and defenders must stand at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) away from the player holding the ball.
- Position Zones: Each of the seven players wears a position bib and is restricted to specific areas of the court.
- Scoring: Only two designated positions—the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack—can score goals, and they must shoot from inside the designated goal circle.
